Back on the beetroot juice …

caution runners Less than 4 days to go until the Inverness Half marathon, so not much else I can do now to get myself race ready. Today my running buddy and training companion Alison was back from a short break and we did our usual after work mid week run.

evening run

After a few days of feeling lethargic and gathering up pre race wobbles, it was good to run on our regular Dell route and although only 3 miles , I felt good.

I am not setting myself any major goals for this race, but I am running to raise funds for a local charity Fife Young Carers . The charity supports young people who look after their parents, many of whom have challenging health conditions. This means they miss out on a lot of things regular teenagers take for granted.

The company I work for supports this charity and each year we raise funds to send a group of carers on an all expenses paid holiday. If you would like to support my efforts to raise money for Fife Young Carers – you can make a donation on the Just Giving page here.

Meanwhile as is my pre race way, I will continue sipping my beetroot juice, read a few   running books, lay out my lucky race kit and dream of the finish line.
