Running and drawing

( but not simultaneously)

All the best praise

I wonder if there is a name for people who can’t resist a challenge, not a scary jump out of a plane type challenge, but the do something for a set number of days challenge.

If yes – then guilty as charged

Right now I have opted to do the 100daysprojectScotland art challenge ( back for a second year) and I am also trying to complete Couch to 5k running programme – am on my 4th attempt at completing this- and the end is in sight.

Both of these can end up taking up a lot of mental energy – with the art challenge I find the hardest part is thinking what to draw – and trying to not just draw the same subject over and over, although arguably that is the point of the 100 day creative endeavour.

For couch to 5k – a lot of brain power is expended in the prevarication and negotiation stage before any run takes place. This despite ( or maybe because) I was for many years a regular runner. My running fitness is quite a long way off what it was in my halcyon 🤣 running days, and I know that now having to run continuously for 25 minutes is going to hurt.

No pain, no gain as is oft quoted, and in both challenges the repetition and consistent practice will hopefully bring rewards.

What I really could do with is some consistency when it comes to writing this blog, but I reckon that 2 challenges are fine for now.
